The Juià Solar Park, Fully Operational

The three Olot Meats Group plants, located in Juià, Celrà and Olot, are now operating with photovoltaic panels to generate clean energy and achieve energy savings.

The Juià Solar Park, an initiative of the Olot Meats Group plant located in this town in the Gironès region, is now fully operational.

The total capacity of the solar park is 4,095 kWp, generated by 6,300 bifacial photovoltaic panels of 650 W each and 16 inverters of 250 kW.

The panels cover a surface area of 19,570 m², with the energy objective that, during hours of maximum solar radiation, grid consumption is zero — in other words, achieving full self-consumption. Currently, the park operates at 100% capacity and generates 100% of the electricity it consumes during daytime hours.

A strong commitment to the environment

Olot Meats Group’s commitment to clean, non-polluting energy goes back many years.

The Olot plant already has 8,000 m² of photovoltaic panels, generating nearly 1,600 kWp. The Celrà plant has also made a firm commitment to photovoltaic self-consumption, with 11,200 m² and 1,697 kWp installed.

Xavier Roca, CEO of Olot Meats Group, states: “With these investments, we are closing a circle that reflects one of the core values of our group — sustainability and our commitment to the environment — making a strong contribution to tackling climate change and promoting the energy transition.”
